"This is for self-paying patients:Once you sign up as being interested, you will get an email almost every day, asking you to respond to some specific questions about your motivations, etc. It quickly became apparent to me that no one reads or replies those responses. I asked them about that, and they said someone does "scan" them. But it's mainly a marketing tool.You set up a video chat with the doctor, and are asked to pay $100 by credit card immediately before he comes online to briefly speak with you.In rapid succession, you are scheduled for a 1:1 Zoom meeting with a psychologist followed by an online group session with their nutritionist. (both required). In short order, you will have labs drawn. If you admit to having ever taken an antacid, you might be required to have an esophagogastroduodeonoscopy at your own expense. This is to check for hiatal hernia or other problems which will also be repaired during your weight loss surgery. Possibly a gastric emptying study will be ordered. If your stomach empties slowly, they might upgrade your procedure from a sleeve to a gastric bypass.If all is well, you will set up your surgery date, and pre-pay (in my case) $13,400.Once the surgery is completed and you are home, you buy your post-op pain prescriptions and ointments and have one more Zoom class with the nutritionist after 2 weeks.After that, you will probably never hear from them again, although you are free to contact them through the patient portal.I am very happy with the outcome, I just wanted to let you know exactly the process as it happened to me."

The follow up care from Doc and his team has been a tremendous asset to my life. TLC changed my life for the better. "Oh wow! Where do I begin.... my surgical team with Dr. Terry Scarborough is awesome! My Pt navigator(Julie) is so patient and understanding with me. I call her alot. And I KNOW I get on her nerves, yet she still answers when I call, to answer any questions I have, to appease my fears, or tell me what else I need to get done. Awesome job she is doing!! Thank you Julie! My nutritionist Lin is amazing! Her classes every month helps me both physically and mentally!!! This is the first time in my life that I have had my emotional eating under control!! What she is doing is helping way more than she thinks! She is very easy to get a hold of if you are have any questions!! Oscar at the front office is always so helpful and pleasant to talk to. Then there is Janine. I had several concerns that just came to mind when we spoke on the phone, and she immediately took care of them, no questions asked. Wasn't even her dept! "I barely write reviews, but I had to comment on this place. I really didn't enjoy my visit. I saw Dr. Mehta and his energy was a bit off to me. He was not very personable and understanding, I noticed that there is no women doctors working in clinic. If they did it would bring a little balance in that place. A women understands what women goes through personally. With Dr. Mehta It was almost like "Ok I've heard this before same old excuse." Like I mentioned, he was not very personable. I felt very uncomfortable and will never go back."

"I had my sleeve done Monday May 16th. The staff were nice and well educated and I loved that. Everything was easy going on, after the surgery I had went to my room and had to stay overnight. The nurses were nice and every time I pressed the call light thing they came in and were very welcoming to help with water and ice and pain meds when I was in pain. Dr. Terry Scarbrough was my doctor and I love him and I’m thankful for this change. Only problem I’m having is drinking liquids and my stomach/ chest pains when I drink or try to eat. But they said drink slow and I do but I still have pain when drinking slow. I can only handle popsicles !!! no soups or protein drinks at the momentMonday I was 274Sunday I’m 269.New update:It was a nurse and nurse practitioner called and checked on me this week and I expressed the tightening in my chest when drinking or eating and the np prescribed something for my chest and this the second day with me taking the pills and I’m thankful for it, cause it was hell trying to drink. The staff here is amazing !!"

"I never really write reviews but Dr. Scarburough is the best doctor I have ever had. I went in for the Obera Balloon and he found polyps and he took them out and then told me I couldn't get the balloon cause then it could cause bleeding. The staff was so nice and the surgery ended up saving my life. They also refunded me the amount without me even asking for the refund. The staff is so nice. I really enjoyed them."

"I had my gastric bypass done by Dr. Scarborough in February 2022. I was really happy with the entire experience. The office was very helpful with getting everything required by my insurance done. I had spent nearly a year working with another surgeon and their office and hadn’t made progress on all the stuff my insurance needed so it was a big relief to go to TLC and be handed a step-by-step guide. I got approved by insurance less than a week after my coordinator at TLC submitted everything. I had my surgery scheduled for three weeks later.Surgery went very smoothly. No complications and plenty of support from the office afterwards. Including quick calls back from Dr. Scarborough when I had a question my first night home.I really appreciate the resources the office provides, as well. I’ve reached out to both the nurse and nutritionist since my surgery (your body changes crazy fast after this type of surgery!) and they are very quick to respond and follow up on any questions or concerns I have. Overall would definitely recommend TLC and Dr. Scarborough to anyone looking into weight loss surgery!"

"The TLC is amazing! From the first time I contacted them up until now everyone on team TLC puts in that little extra effort to make sure they can help you get through the process. From scheduling appointments, dealing with the insurance company for you, to making sure you get all your questions answered so you feel comfortable on your surgery day. The dietitian is also great, not only does she have great classes, but has social media to help you with choices of food and nutrition information. She will also respond to all questions via email. Last but not least; Dr. Scarbrough was great throughout the entire process. If you are thinking of weight loss surgery, I highly recommend the TLC team."

"It took me almost 15 years to be able to get gastric sleeve surgery. And I thought it would never happen. TLC helped me to get my insurance coverage and helped me for over a year to prepare. I am so grateful for everything they have helped me with. Dr. Scarborough was amazing and kind. His staff were always great. Lin Lin always helped me in anyway they could. Highest weight was 485. Surgery weight was 356 and I am at 204 1 year later. I have zero regrets and TLC did a great job to help and educate me along the entire process. I will totally recommend them to anyone that asks."
