"I can easily say that this is the best experience I have ever had in a medical facility of any kind ever in my life. Period. I had LASIK and PRK done at the same time recently and couldn’t recommend it more.Dr. Furlong was recommended to me by my optometrist. My optometrist did the initial evaluations and I went to Dr. Furlong’s facility for one more evaluation before my surgery. During the entire process, I always had someone with me anytime I was in the building (except in the waiting room). They answered all of my questions, showed me many informational resources, and made sure I was comfortable with the entire procedure.On the day of surgery, I arrived with my driver, signed my informed consent forms, and then prepped for surgery. The procedure itself is a little intense, since they are literally shooting lasers into your eyeballs, but everything else made it so easy to deal with. They even give you a little stress ball to squeeze while you’re having surgery because it’s such a tense moment. I was in and out of the surgery room in 10 minutes, and then they sent me on my way with snacks. The whole process took less than two hours. The care coordinator also called to follow up with me later that day to make sure everything was fine and I didn’t have any issues.I really appreciate that this office does improvements if needed on your surgeries, and all care is included in your final price. You’re not being nickeled and dimed for anything after the surgery (though it’s not cheap). Additionally, follow up care with your optometrist (who is monitoring the healing process of my PRK) is also included in the final price.Overall, this was a great experience & I’d recommend this place if you’re getting corrective eye surgery."

"Dr. Furlong and his staff are amazing! I received advanced lasik surgery a few days ago and was initially hesitant as I have smaller, sensitive eyes. Being a glasses wearer since I was 10 years old and taking years to learn to put in contacts this was a dream come true to me. The process was simple; I just had to be out of my contacts for 7 days before my pre-op appointment and the surgery. The surgery itself took less than 10 minutes and I was in the office less than an hour. Everyone along the way was very clear, concise, and professional. My hesitations weren't an issue at all and I could immediately see more clearly. By the end of the night I had 20/20 vision! I want to say thank you to Dr. Furlong for such a great experience and I feel fortunate to have an opportunity to see the world differently from one of the best vision correction Drs. in the country!"

"My experience with furlong vision correction for LASIK was excellent. I don't usually write reviews but wanted to for this experience since I relied heavily on reviews when making my decision.From the beginning, they were up front with everything I should know, and were extremely knowledgeable. It also helped that they take care of the San Jose earthquakes! They had excellent covid-based operations as well, which made me feel safe.The day of surgery, it was very smooth and fast. They walked me through everything as I was doing it and I was surprised at how quick the procedure felt.Came back for my post-op appointment and so far seeing 20/15! Thanks a bunch folks!"

"That was such a weird experience. The front desk staff were very nice, and then I have my exam and when I asked questions about the next steps the nurse became really frustrated, gave short angry answers, was on his phone while consulting with me. I had to just walk out I was so uncomfortable."

"Great experience!Since the first appointment where they evaluated if I was a good candidate, they answered all my questions. By the time of the surgery, I already knew the process really well and I was calmed. My recovery has been great, no pain, and my vision is great."

"EXCELLENT experience. Would do it again (though I’ll never need to lol).-my current state: 24 hours after my surgery and I’m seeing at least 20-15 (the lowest line on the chart, I think I could see more). I currently have some halos around lights that has already significantly subsided in the last 24 hours (this is expected and will go away I’m told). I had some stinging pain for the first six-ish hours that went away with the numbing drops they gave me. Two naps yesterday and I was good to go. Prior to surgery I was nearsighted, -4 and -4.25, with astigmatism in both eyes.-COVID ready: this staff and clinic is totally COVID ready. They have cut down on their appointments to space everything out. Standard pre-entrance protocol: over-the-phone health questionnaire, temp taken at door, mask required, hand sanitizer everywhere. I never saw another patient. Rooms are clearly marked as to whether they have been sterilized or not. Instruments were cleaned before and after their use on me.-great doc: Doctor Furlong is an awesome dude that clearly knows his stuff, has a warm personality and has massive experience. He impressed me first during the consultation when, after a litany of digital tests completed with state of the art equipment, he examined my eyes with traditional optical equipment. By this he showed me that he embraces the latest and greatest tech but doesn’t completely depend on it, and wants to confirm everything with the old tried and true optical analog tech. I love that, and got a lot of confidence from this.-great staff: I interacted with several staff during my consultation and surgery. Each one of them was knowledgeable and friendly. I felt I was in excellent hands at all times. Additionally they were each positive and excited for me.-cooperation with my eye doc: my eye doctor is Dr. Ratinoff in Palo Alto. Dr. R referred me to Dr. F. The cooperation is seamless. They update each other on progress and status. I paid once to Furlong Vision and that has taken care of everything.-I have video of the surgery and it’s amazing: with covid rules, the viewing room for family / friends is closed. A staff member (my counselor, Phillipe - same person caring for me in the consultation and on surgery day) kindly used my phone and took a video of the entire procedure. It’s honestly so so incredible to watch and truly re-confirmed my confidence in the entire experience. I’m so happy to have the video! I’m kind of into that kind of weird stuff so I love watching it.All in all just simply an amazing experience, not just a surgery....."

"As an optometrist myself, I know there are a plethora of options to choose from in regards to refractive surgery providers. I wanted to go to a facility I trusted and Furlong fit the bill in so many ways. The entire staff are efficient, thorough, and extremely knowledgeable. On the rare occasion I had to wait, it was for a very short period, and I never felt rushed out. My vision now seems sharper than ever and my eyes feel so comfortable. I can't recommend this facility enough."

"I had LASIK performed by Dr Furlong on 21 July 2000. This was not all that long after the procedure was finally approved in the USA; Dr Furlong had been performing it in Canada and teaching internationally prior to FDA approval. When I learned he’d fixed Steve Jobs’ eyes, and those of many players on the 49ers team, I was intrigued; one meeting was all I needed to know I’d found the right doctor and clinic. I paid out of pocket; no insurance covered it back then. The procedure went beautifully, and my vision went from legally blind to 20/15.I’m now 62, and remain ecstatic over the amazing results, almost 20 years later. I have a pair of 1.75 “cheaters” from Target I use to read in poor light (menus, pill bottles at night, etc) and that’s all I need. My head swims when I consider all the thousands of $$ in contact lenses and supplies, and in prescription glasses and sunglasses, that I’ve saved over 20 years.We’re now living on the East Coast. My 17 year old daughter is yearning for the day when she is old enough to have the procedure... so we’re planning on a trip to the Bay Area in the summer of 2021!!!LASIK changed my life for the better in so many ways. Thank you, Dr Furlong and staff; looking forward to seeing you next June (year)!!"

"Was told to come back after a few months for a vision field test. When I called, the person said she would have to check on it and call back. That didn't happen. Don't take vision insurance. $350 for an general eye exam. Have to go elsewhere for eyeglasses. Overall, poor service."

"We did an extensive research for my wife's Andreja important step as eye Lasik surgery is. We included Furlong Vision in that research. It was also recommended by our friend Melissa who did her Lasik with them many years ago and is still excited with the whole experience and results.The information session with Dr Furlong himself and with his staff went very well. We had a chance to see all the options available and that our questions/concerns be addressed right away by Dr. Furlong.The most helpful approach and attentivness we experienced was from Erin, who is part of the Financal Department there (but she does much more than that.) She was very flexible to even meet with us last moment on a very busy Friday and to help us figure out the most practical solutions- wheather it was about financial part or what to specifically expect part.She was always friendly and enthusiastic whenever we approached her with new questions. The company is lucky to have someone like her dealing with people having such a crucial decision in their lives.We also want to commend the front desk staff, including Carol , who were always so friendly and curteous no matter how busy they were(we have to say that some days were really busy in the mornings.)Surgery day went great-organized and synchronized by all part of the staff. My wife felt it went super smooth. The follow up was something we also liked and which showed us how they really care about successful long term results.My wife Andreja says she feels like new with the quality of Lasik surgery they have done. It has been few months now for her and she loves it every day. Highly reccomending Furlong Vision as the best option for the South Bay area and beyond."

"I'd been dependent on glasses since kindergarten. Finally, over the last few years, I was considering LASIK. Once I discovered the world-class expertise of Dr. Furlong and Furlong Vision Correction, I knew it was time to finally do it. I couldn't be more pleased with my decision.They made the process so easy to understand and follow with clear education every step of the way. My wife was able to watch my 11-minute procedure from a viewing room. A nurse walked her through every step, while Dr. Furlong was doing the same for me in the operating room.I was amazed at my ability to see just after the procedure, with a very rapid recovery. "I recently had lasik eye surgery and there is no words to express my excitement and happiness Furlong vision correction has change my world for the better, i can now see my face without glasses for the longest i can remember. They are very profesional and very friendly. The surgery was as fast as 15 mins and The next day i was able to see very clear and i was able to drive. The recovery was fast, no swollen eyes, no red spots in my eyes and no pain. I was able to sleep very well on my first night without having to take pain pills. I so recomend this clinic without a thought!!!!!"

"Very disappointed in Dr Furlongs office. 2 stars because they were quick to schedule an exam and take our money, but it took them over 1 month to send the referral to an optometrist for the contact lense fitting. During normal business hours that should take no more than 24 hours."

"Good result for an extremely nearsighted person. I have a -10.0 correction, which means I'm not a good candidate for LASIK (cornea isn't thick enough for both the flap and the ablation). 20 years ago I had PRK on my non-dominant eye, and while it got me to functional, it wasn't perfect. So I put off correcting my dominant eye. Finally decided it was time, and met with Dr. Furlong and his staff. He took all the time I needed to explain how PRK had changed, how my results might be different. Recovery from the first one was a bit tough, which wasn't surprising given the trauma to the eye. I had some odd optical effects, but now at the 9 month point they are all gone. And I was still a touch nearsighted. He explained at my six month follow up that with high correction patients, they are very careful not to go too far, and that sometimes that means that an enhancement needs to be done. We decided to do that to get rid of the last -1.50 of nearsightedness. I had the enhancement performed about a month before leaving for a cycling trip in Italy, and it was fantastic to get up every morning on my trip and NOT stick a contact in either eye. I'll leave the dominant eye as is, since I'm now in the presbyopia phase of life and the slight nearsightedness in that eye works as reading glasses."

"I had my LASIK done here 10 years ago and had a great experience. Also referred all my friends and coworkers there. I know lots of people that have gone with Furlong and are very happy!I contacted them today as I needed some information and they were so friendly. I recall my LASIK experience to be awesome. I really would recommend Dr. Furlong. He is very personable - asked me about my snowboarding skills and what Tahoe resorts I go to - as he's a skier himself. I recall making appointments with the 2 top Dr in the Bay area and ended up going with Furlong because they were more genuine. For the other dr, I had to re-schedule my appointment < 24 hours because I became very ill. I even had a physician's note but they treated me very Poorly - said they would have to charge me for my initial visit now bc I canceled the original consultation. I had the flu so did they really want me to go and infect everyone anyways when I had an MD that told me to stay home? Sometimes people just get sick last minute. Don't go to Dr. B**di.If I were to get my Lasik again, I would be back to Furlong!"

"One of the best decisions I've made in my life!It took me about 2 years before I actually made a decision and not to sound super corny or anything... I should've done it sooner! It's definitely easier saying that knowing my LASIK surgery went well so I completely understand anyone's fear or hesitation with actually committing.Dr. Furlong along with his staff were incredible throughout this process. They made sure all my questions were answered, any fear assuaged, and were just in general very pleasant people to be around :) From my consultation to my post-op, the whole process was easy. They mostly perform the LASIK procedures on Friday and you're ready to go back to work on Monday which is super convenient.I would definitely encourage anyone thinking about it to go do the consultation to see if you qualify. Dr. Furlong and his staff are completely honest during this portion and I actually had most of concerns and fears addressed during the consultation. It from this appointment, I knew I could trust Dr. Furlong and his staff to handle my eyes.The actual procedure itself sounds worse than it actually felt. The actual procedure was for the most part painless and at the worst part, it just felt slightly uncomfortable. The night of, after my procedure, I did feel a little stinging but I popped a benadryl and just went to bed for almost the entire day and woke up feeling great! My eyes felt completely felt normal the day after and to my surprise had better than 20/20 vision!Overall, I had a wonderful experience and highly recommend Dr. Furlong and his team! They also accept FSA!"

"They have snacks for you while you wait.Waits aren't that long.My advice: come prepared. Check out different doctors before you commit to any and ask Dr. Furlong as many questions as you can while you're with him before the surgery."

"Had LASIK here about a month ago. Everything was very efficiently run (lots of digital reminders, on time appointments, etc.). The office is conveniently located next to VTA light rail (in case you have nobody to drive you) and very comfortable/up to date. The staff and doctor are very friendly and knowledgable.And, I suppose most importantly, my operation was a success."
